Volleyball Falls To Daemen In Five Set Road Thriller

AMHERST, N.Y. - The Queens College volleyball team dropped a five set match to Daemen Saturday morning in East Coast Conference action at Lumsden Gymnasium.  The Knights sit at 4-9 on the season overall, and 1-3 in league play, following the contest.

After dropping the first set 25-9, the Knights responded to take set two 28-26.  The Wildcats moved ahead in the third set with a 25-19 victory, before Queens evened the match with a 25-19 set four victory of its own.  Daemen secured the match victory with a 15-11 win in the fifth and final set.

For the Knights, senior Arielle DiCocco finished with a team high 15 kills.  Bianca Steele finished with seven kills in the match, and hit an impressive .462.

Sophomore Kristen Moore registered 21 assists for QC, while sophomore Jessica Yin had 16 assists.  Moore completed a double-double with 10 digs, while senior Xhesi Domi had a team best 17 digs.

For the Wildcats, Ye Wang finished with a game high 17 kills. Katie McKrell posted 46 assists, while Kailey Ballou tallied 19 digs.

The Knights are back in action Tuesday evening at Mercy.
