Rochester, N.Y. - The Queens College men's basketball team held Roberts Wesleyan to just 34 points in a 62-34, blowout win in Rochester, New York on Friday. Jeremiah Mordi and Amir Tarif each reached double-figures in scoring for the Knights.
QC allowed just 16 points in the first half and surrendered another 18 in the second. The first twenty minutes saw Queens build a 30-16 advantage. The Knights built a 10-3 lead over the first 6:30 off of baskets from Mordi, Patrick Parker and Ronald Washington, Jr. A Mordi three-point-play at 6:35 gave QC its largest lead of the half, 24-6.
In the second half, a pair of Tyrel Dixon foul shots inside of 18 minutes got the Red Hawks within nine, but Queens took off from there. They went limited Roberts Wesleyan to 13 points for the remainder of the game in the 62-34 victory.
Mordi finished with a double-double of 30 points and 10 rebounds, while Tarif scored 11 and pulled down nine boards. After an off-day, the Knights will go for a perfect road trip as they face Daemen on Sunday.
