Box Score

Flushing, N.Y. - The Queens College men's basketball team held off Mercy for a 75-70 win in a game continued from the December 20 contest that was suspended.  The final 11 minutes were played in Fitzgerald Gym on Monday night.

Four QC players finished in double-figures in scoring, led by Diego Maldonado's game-high 21 points.  Anthony Hodges scored 13, Jeremiah Mordi had 11 and Kyheim Chaplin totaled ten.

The game was continued with QC up, 54-42 at the 11:06 mark.  Less than a minute into the restart, a driving layup from Hodges made the score, 56-45.  90 seconds later, Hodges nailed a jumper to make the lead 13.  Mercy fought back and got within six when Tyshaun Carter made a basket at 2:24 to make the score, 69-63.

From there, the Mavericks turned up the defensive pressure and the Knights did a good job of drawing fouls.  Chaplin hit a pair, Paul Little made both of his and Hodges closed out the game with two as well.

The team is now 3-11 overall and 3-4 in the East Coast Conference.  They return to action on Tuesday when they face Molloy at 7:30 PM.
