DiCocco's Game-High 14 Kills Not Enough as Knights Volleyball Falls to Southern Connecticut State Three Sets to One

Flushing, N.Y. – The Knights volleyball squad couldn't sustain a hot start after winning the first set, dropping the next three, to fall to Southern Connecticut State, 3-1.  The scores of the sets were 18-25, 25-17, 25-13 and 25-20.  With the loss, the Knights fall to 7-3 on the season.

The Knights clinched set one by scoring five straight points. In the set, the Knights had 13 kills to the Owls' eight.  Francesca Indoni had a set-leading four kills in the opening stanza for QC. The Knights were also helped by seven Owl errors.

In the second set, Southern Connecticut State's Sarah Beres notched her 1,000th career kill, set up by her teammate Taylor Carlson, en route to taking the frame, 25-17.

The Knights showed fight in the fourth and final set, where Arielle DiCocco (#7) contributed five of her team-leading 14 kills.

Queens will continue their three game homestand at the Maurice FitzGerald Gym with a matchup against East Coast Conference foe, Molloy College at 7 PM on Tuesday, October 1.
