Bridgeport, Conn. - The Queens College men's
basketball team fell to the University of Bridgeport, 85-58 in a
game played in Bridgeport, Connecticut on Saturday. With the
setback, the Knights fall to 7-7 in conference play.
QC scored the game's opening points as Patrick Parker (Queens,
N.Y./Alfred State) made two of his 10 free throws to put the
Knights up 2-0. From there, the Purple Knights answered with
eight unaswered to lead 8-2, before the Knights pulled within a
point, 8-7, as George Holmes (Gordon Heights, N.Y./Suffolk C.C.)
made a three-pointer. Queens never led after the opening
points and Bridgeport led at the half, 37-23.
The Knights didn't threaten in the secondhalf as Bridgeport
pulled away for the 85-58 win. Holmes scored a game-high 19
points, while Parker chipped in with 17, including a perfect line
(10-of-10) from the charity stripe.
Queens College returns to action on Wednesday, February 20, when
they host UDC in Fitzgerald Gym. The game with the Firebirds
is slated for 7:00 PM.
