Knights Fall to Bridgeport 85-58

Bridgeport, Conn. - The Queens College men's basketball team fell to the University of Bridgeport, 85-58 in a game played in Bridgeport, Connecticut on Saturday.  With the setback, the Knights fall to 7-7 in conference play.

QC scored the game's opening points as Patrick Parker (Queens, N.Y./Alfred State) made two of his 10 free throws to put the Knights up 2-0.  From there, the Purple Knights answered with eight unaswered to lead 8-2, before the Knights pulled within a point, 8-7, as George Holmes (Gordon Heights, N.Y./Suffolk C.C.) made a three-pointer.  Queens never led after the opening points and Bridgeport led at the half, 37-23.

The Knights didn't threaten in the secondhalf as Bridgeport pulled away for the 85-58 win.  Holmes scored a game-high 19 points, while Parker chipped in with 17, including a perfect line (10-of-10) from the charity stripe.

Queens College returns to action on Wednesday, February 20, when they host UDC in Fitzgerald Gym.  The game with the Firebirds is slated for 7:00 PM.
