Short Handed Knights Come up Short Versus Daemen

Flushing, N.Y. - The Queens College men's basketball team was without key starters, Patrick Parker and George Holmes, but the team still managed to have four players in double-figures in a loss to Daemen on Saturday in Fitzgerald Gym.  Ronald Washington, Jr. came off the bench for a team-high 21 points.  Amir Tarif finished with 20 points (7-13), while Kyheim Chaplin had 14 and Tommie Stakes, Jr. 13.  Although short-handed, Queens shot 27-54 (.500) from the field.

The first 13:17 of the first half went back and forth as the score was even at 26-all. The Wildcats closed out the half with a 16-6 run to lead 42-32 at the break.

Trailing by 20 with 15:05 remaining in the second half, QC went on a 9-2 run over the 3:08 of game time, to cut the deficit to 13. However, that was as close as the Knights would get as Daemen went on to win 90-77.

The Queens College Men's Basketball team returns to action Tuesday night, January 2, when they host Le Moyne. Tipoff begins at 7 PM.
