Flushing, N.Y. - In an action-packed game that
kept the fans' minds off the snowstorm which has hit the
tri-state area, the Knights men's basketball squad fell to
the University of Bridgeport 82-70. The loss puts them at 0-3 in
conference play thus far.
The first 1:30 of the game saw the Knights take a quick, 5-0
lead before Bridgeport climbed back into it and took their first
lead of the game at the 4:30 mark of the game, thanks to a Sean
Berry slam. QC would find themselves' playing catch up most
of the game, heading into the locker room down nine. In the
half, Queens's leader would turn out to be Patrick Parker
with 6 points and three rebounds.
In the second half, the Knights found themselves down 17 in the
early going. They would narrow their deficit down to six, thanks to
an Amir Tarif layup with 9:22 to go. That's the closest they
would get as UB's Ernest Rouse would sink his first of three
3-pointers in the half.
Tarif led the Knights with 21 points on the evening, tallying 16
of them in the 2nd half. Parker finished with 19
and grabbed a team-high nine rebounds.
This four-game homestand continues for QC on Friday December
20th against the Roberts Wesleyan Redhawks, tip-off
scheduled for 7:30 in the FitzGerald Gym.
