BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - Senior forward Khalil McDonald led all players with 21 points and 11 rebounds Saturday afternoon at Harvey Hubbell Gymnasium, as the Queens College men's basketball team dropped an 85-72, East Coast Conference decision at the University of Bridgeport.
The visiting Knights sported a 38-37 halftime edge before falling victim to a 48-point second half by the host Purple Knights.
Freshman point guard Abe Akanmu (Staten Island, N.Y.) added 15 points for the visitors, while sophomore Jeremiah Mordi (Valley Stream, N.Y.) chipped in with 13 points and a team-best five assists. Junior Daniel Watson (Mt. Vernon, N.Y.) also scored in double figures for QC, netting 10 points on the afternoon.
Head coach Kyrk Peponakis's Knights are back in ECC action Wednesday night (Feb. 15), when they travel to Brookville, N.Y., for a 7 p.m. tip at conference-leading C.W. Post.
