Rockville Centre, N.Y. (November 9, 2012) – The Knights
men's basketball fell to the Daemen College Wildcats
76-64 at the Molloy Tip-Off to go to 0-1 on the season.
The
Knights looked strong in half number one, which they ended ahead by
one point, 36-35. Junior Patrick Parker who led the team with 17
points, sank nine baskets in the first half, with a pair of
field goals\, a three-pointer, while shooting a
perfect six-of-six at the charity stripe, ending the half with
11 points.
Fellow Junior Kevin Nascimento had a solid first half, contributing
10 points, making three two-pointers and putting in 4 out of 5
free throws in the half. At the line the Knights made 88% of their
free throws in the first half.
In the 2nd half, the Knights were outscored 41-28.
Despite the efforts of senior Danny Watson recording a team-leading
8 points in the 2nd half, it was foul trouble which cost
the Knights a victory. The Knights 16 fouls in the 2nd
half paved the way for the Wildcats, who shot 70% at the line,
while the Knights made just 62% of their free throws in the
half.
The Knights will next take on Post University at 4 PM on Saturday,
November 10th at the Molloy Tip-Off in Rockville Centre,
New York.
