Rockville Centre, N.Y. (November 10, 2012) – The Knights
men's basketball fell to the Post University Eagles in a
gritty 79-78 overtime loss at the Molloy Tip-Off to fall to
0-2 on the season.
The Knights ended the first half on top 41-29. Falling behind by as
much as 60-49 midway through the 2nd half, they clawed
their way back into the game as sophomore Patrick Modzelewski (14
points) nailed the game-tying three of the game with just one
second remaining in the 2nd half.
In overtime, Modzelewski laid up the game-tyer once again before
Post University's Jake Wilcox landed the game-winning free
throw. Senior Danny Watson put up the Knights first two overtime
points, and junior Kevin Nascimento sank two from the free throw
line to initially tie up the game in OT.
The Knights will next take on Felician College at 7 PM on Tuesday,
November 13th. The game was originally scheduled to be
played at the Maurice FitzGerald Gym, but due to recovery efforts
on the campus of Queens College for those displaced by Hurricane
Sandy, the game has been moved to Felician College in Rutherford,
New Jersey.
