Lans' 19 helps Queens defeat Molloy, 65-60

The Queens College Men's Basketball team made it three straight with today's win against Molloy College, 65-60.  The win sees the Knights improve to 15-5 overall and 12-3 in conference play. The Lions with the loss fall to 7-13 and 7-8 in the ECC.

 

The Queens College Knights remain on top of the ECC for the time being racking up their third straight win and eighth in the last nine games all against conference opponents. Queens used a well rounded attack to help defeat Molloy in a close game. Shooting a solid 39% from the floor along with forcing 17 turnovers, 11 of which were steals helped propel the Knights over the Lions.

 

Three Knights found themselves in double digits. Senior guard Lamonte Lans led the way for his squad dropping 19 points good for a game and team high on 7-16 shooting. Senior guard Anderson Labase added a solid 13 points in the contest as well as having 6 of the teams 11 steals in the game. Rounding out the scoring was junior Khalil McDonald who was good for 13 points of his on 4-10 shooting from the floor. Senior Terrell Simmons just barely missed a double- double. Simmons had 9 points and grabbed 8 boards in a solid 31 minute effort off the bench for Queens.

 

The Knights return to action Wednesday February 9th when they travel to N.Y..I.T to take on the Bears and look to make it four in row. All the action can be found on www.nyit.edu
