The Queens College Men's Basketball team knocked off the STAC Spartans on the road last night by the score of, 55-40. The win helps the Knights improve to an overall record of 14-5 and an 11-3 mark in Conference play. The loss sees the Spartans fall to 4-15 and 4-10 in the ECC.
The Knights who came off a huge win against conference foe Bridgeport this past Thursday were poised and ready for STAC. The win last night helps the Knights climb back into a tie for first place in the ECC. Queens, Bridgeport and C.W Post all sit on top of the Conference with an 11-3 record.
The Knights held STAC to only 40 points in their victory last night playing fantastic defense as well as out rebounding their opponent 32-21. Queens shot 46% from the floor for the game and 71% from the free throw line.
Three Knights found themselves in double digits in the win. Leading the way for the knights were seniors Anderson Labase and Lamonte Lans. Both guards poured in 16 points for the Knights good for both game and team highs. Junior Khalil McDonald also added 13 points for Queens on 5-8 shooting.
The Knights are back in action on Saturday Feb. 5th when they travel to Melville, NY to take on Molloy College. All the action which includes live stats and video can be found at www.molloy.edu.
