Flushing, NY- the Queens College Women's Basketball team traveled to Bridgeport, CT where they lost to the second place Purple Knights by the score of 67-59. With the loss the Knights fall to 10-16 overall and 9-10 in ECC play. With the win UB improves to 15-11 and 13-6 in conference play.
Despite shooting only 35 % from the floor and only 25% from trey, the Knights played a tough fought battle with Bridgeport. The first half proved to be the difference in the outcome. The Purple Knights took an eight point lead in to the locker room and road the margin to victory. Queens could not find an answer for UB's Kelly Keil. Keil led all scorers and the Purple Knights to victory with a 25 point showing as well as pulling down 17 boards.
Three Knights found themselves in double digits in the loss. QC was led by sophomore Chloe Johnson. Johnson poured in 17 points in 34 minutes of work for her squad while going 6-20 from the field. Teammates Cadie Chu and Caitlin Hopkins both added 12 point efforts for their squad.
Next up for the Knights will be the Pioneers of C.W Post University. Queens will Travel to Post on Wednesday February 23rd with tip off slated for 5:00pm. All the action can be followed at www.cwpostpioneers.com.
