Knights crush Dowling, 75-47

Flushing, NY- The Queens College Men's Basketball team cruised to a 75-47 victory over the visiting Dowling College Golden Lions. The win improves the Knights to an overall record of 17-6 and a 14-4 mark in the ECC.  With the loss Dowling drops to 6-17 overall and 6-12 in conference play.

 

The hot handed Knights used a huge first half to set the tone and propel themselves to victory over DC. Shooting 54% as a team from the floor and an even more impressive 57% from three in the first stanza helped the Knights lead at half, 44-21. Queens continued to pour in the points in the second half. The Knights shot a solid 40% from the field and a perfect 100% from the free throw line to lead them to a convincing 28 point victory. An area often over looked, the Knights also played tenacious defense as well as winning the battle of the boards. QC pulled down 17 more rebounds than their opponent, out rebounding DC 42-25.

 

Three Knights had double digit scoring nights in the victory. Senior guard Anderson Labase led the way for the Knights dropping 14 points for Queens as well dishing out 8 assists.  Both junior Khalil McDonald and freshman Jeremiah Mordi added 13 points respectively for the Knights.

 

Queens who are now winners of their last ten of twelve get set to take on the University of Bridgeport, Saturday February 18th at 3:00 pm. With a win the Knights could move into a tie for second place along with UB. All the action can be followed at www.bridgeport.edu
