Women's Basketball Posts Season-Best Shooting Effort at Adelphi

GARDEN CITY, N.Y. - Guards Nicole Caggiano and Cadie Chu combined for 35 points and a 9-for-16 effort from 3-point land Wednesday night at the Center for Recreation and Sports, as the Queens College women's basketball team narrowly fell at the hands of host Adelphi University, 61-59.

Caggiano (Holtsville, N.Y.) was 7-for-12 shooting from the floor, helping the Knights to season-best efforts in field-goal percentage (.468) and from downtown (9-for-18, .500). Chu (Bellerose, N.Y.) was 6-for-14 and added five assists to tie for the game-high in that category. Junior Megan White (Whitestone, N.Y.) came off the bench to add 12 points, including a 4-for-4 display in the low post and a 4-for-5 effort at the charity stripe.

Queens showed strong resiliency in the second half, coming back from a 15-point deficit to knot the game twice (57-all, and 59-all) in the final three minutes of action.

Head coach Bet Naumovski's Knights are back in East Coast Conference action Saturday afternoon (Dec. 17), when they play host to Molloy College at Fitzgerald Gymnasium on Alumni Day. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
