EASTON, Mass. - The Queens College men's basketball team lost for the first time on the 2011-12 campaign Saturday afternoon at Merkert Gymnasium, as the Knights (1-1) fell victim to a second-half run by host Stonehill College, 57-41.
Senior Khalil McDonald (Queens Village, N.Y.) led the team with 14 points and eight rebounds, while sophomore Jeremiah Mordi (Valley Stream, N.Y.) added nine points. Junior reserve Daniel Watson (Mt. Vernon, N.Y.) contributed seven rebounds to the QC cause.
The two teams will meet again at Queens's Fitzgerald Gymnasium, Dec. 13 at 5 p.m.
Head coach Kyrk Peponakis's Knights are back in action Thanksgiving eve (Nov. 23), when they play host to Molloy College in a 7:30 p.m., East Coast Conference tip-off.
