Women's Basketball Drops Season Opener vs. Post University

ALBANY, N.Y. – Sophomore guard Joanna Verouhis (Flushing, N.Y.) netted a team-best 12 points on 6-for-9 shooting from the floor Friday night at Daniel P. Nolan Gymnasium, as the Queens College women's basketball team opened up its 2011-12 season with a 93-48 loss at the hands of Post University.

The game was part of the Saint Rose Tip-Off Tournament, which continues Saturday when the Knights (0-1) take on Concordia College at 12 noon.

Sophomore Caitlin Hopkins (Holtsville, N.Y.) came off the bench to supply nine points and a team-best seven rebounds for Queens, while freshman Megan Lonergan (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) swiped a team-best three steals in the low post.
