Knights lose 2OT heart breaker to C.W Post 98-96

The Queens College Men's Basketball team lost a double overtime heart breaker to C.W Post Saturday afternoon in Brookville, 98-96.With the loss the Knights stumble to 7-5 (4-2 ECC) while with the win the Pioneers improve to 7-6 (4-2 ECC).

 

The Knights showed a tremendous amount of heart this afternoon at Post. Qieens who went into half time down 35-31, and were as down as many as 14 points in the second half were able to rally back and force overtime play. The Knights used a 14-1 run in the second half to do so. Queens got double digit support from 5 of its players. Khalil McDonald led the way for the Knights with a 20 point effort going 9-13 from the floor. Senior, Akim Neverson added another double-double to this years resume, dropping 19 points while pulling down 13 rebounds and an injured Lamonte Lans, who has been fighting a foot injury gave the Knights quality minutes off the bench tonight, clocking in for 19 points in 35 minutes of work. Senior guard, Anderson Labase was one assist shy of a double-double of his own, dropping 19 points and 9 assists while Edil Lacayo rounded out the scoring with 13 points of his own.

 

Queens for the third straight game did everything they could to win and just ended up on the wrong side of the decision. The Knights shot 43 % from the floor for the game as well as 80 % from the free throw line.  The Knights look to right the ship Wednesday night when they host the Molloy lions at home, with the tip-off set for 7:30 pm.
