Knights lose on the Road to the Pioneers 82-46.

The Queens College Women's Basketball team traveled to Brookville, NY to take on the C.W Post Pioneers Saturday afternoon. The ECC Pre-Season favorite Pioneers proved to be to much for the Knights beating Queens 82-46. With the loss the Knights fall to 4-10 (3-4 ECC) while the Pioneers improve to 6-5 (4-2 ECC).

 

C.W. Post opened the game on an 18-2 run and never looked back. Felicia Joyner and freshman guard Alexis Peters (Dorchester, Mass.) each scored eight points in the half for the Pioneers, who closed out the half leading 40-18. The offensive attack continued in the second half for the Pioneers as they maintained a double digit lead throughout. C.W. Post closed out the half with its highest lead of the game after freshman guard Shayna Gatling (Baldwin, N.Y.) nailed a three-pointer with 51 seconds left to play. The Knights never got anything going while shooting only 28% from the field for the game. Queens also known for the three ball, was only 1-14 from behind the arc in the contest. Post also out rebounded the Knights 57-30. Junior, Amanda Bartlett finished with 13 points and Freshman Caitlin Hopkins had nine points and nine rebounds in the loss.

 

The Knights look to rebound this coming Wednesday night at home when they take on Molloy College at 5 pm. Queens looks to get back on the winning side of things and with a win would improve to 4-4 in conference play. Live Stats and Live Video can be found on our website under the schedules tab.
