The Queens College Men's Basketball team traveled to Bridgeport, CT to take on the Purple Knights in hopes of distancing themselves in first place. Losing a heartbreaker on the Road 73-68, Queens falls to 7-3 (4-1 ECC) while Bridgeport improves to 4-5 (4-1 ECC).
The Knights found themselves up by four with six minutes left and could not hold on to the lead to finish off Bridgeport. A true heartbreaker, the Knights played a complete game and just found themselves on the wrong side of things when the dust settled. Queens' only downfall was holding on to the ball. The Knights turned the ball over ten more times than their opponent for a total 25 times. On the bright side four Knights found themselves in double figures tonight. Leading the way for Queens was senior forward Akim Neverson. Neverson dropped 18 points on 5-10 shooting as well as grabbing 9 boards. Anderson Labase also added 16 points and 7 rebounds. Freshman Jerimiah Mordi was also 5-10 from the field good for 15 points. Rounding out the scoring was Khalil McDonald who provided a solid effort off the bench adding 11 points on 5-11 shooting.
With the loss the Knights are now in a tie with Bridgeport for first place in the ECC, both with records of 4-1.
