Queens Drops Decision To Bridgeport 70-57.

The Queens College Women's Basketball team traveled to Bridgeport, CT to take on the Purple Knights, who proved to be too much for a struggling Knights offense. Queens College managed to only score 57 points in tonight's 70-57 loss to Bridgeport. With the Loss the Knights fall to 4-9 (3-3 ECC) while the Purple Knights improve to 5-7 (3-2 ECC).

For the second time in as many games the Knights find themselves on the wrong side of the decision. Kelly Kiel and her Purple Knights proved too much for the Knights. Kelly registered a double-double with 29 points which led all scorers and pulled down 15 rebounds. Bridgeport also out rebounded Queens 37-19. However, it wasn't all bad news for Queens, juniors Amanda Bartlett and Jessica Fairweather both registered double digit scoring nights. Fairweather was 5-10 from the floor in 23 minutes of work to knock down 14 points which was good enough for her season high. Bartlett like she has all season led the Knights with 21 points on 7-18 shooting which was good for 21 points , more than one third her teams total.

The loss moves Queens out of second place and into third, with one big game left this week. Saturday the Knights travel to C.W Post University to take on the Pioneers, who are now ahead of Queens with a 3-2 record in the Conference.
