Knights fall to C.W Post, 76-67

The Queens College Women's basketball team dropped a home game against visiting C.W Post University last night by the score of 76-67. The loss drops the Knights to 7-12 (6-6 ECC), while the Pioneers improve to 9-9 (7-6 ECC).

Despite having four players in double figures, the Knights could not pull out a much needed victory. A win could have put Queens in a tie for third place with Bridgeport at the 7-5 mark. The loss sees the Knights drop to 6-6 in conference play, which for the time being puts them in sole possession of 5th place.

Senior Christine Harnishfeger led the way for her squad pouring in 20 points on 6-14 shooting from the field as well as going 4-7 from beyond the arc.  Junior Amanda Bartlett also added 16 points of her own as well as dishing out 8 assists in the contest.  The Knights Jessica Fairweather and Caitlin Hopkins both added 10 points to round out the scoring for Queens in the loss.

Next up for the Knights is the visiting Purple Knights of Bridgeport who come into town Monday night. Another crucial matchup for Queens in which a potential win can help the Knights tie Bridgeport at what would be a 7-6 mark in the ECC.
