The Knights used double digit efforts from all five of its starters in an 80-62 win against a winless Mercy College Maverick basketball team on the road in Dobbs Ferry, NY. The win helps keep the Knights on top of the ECC with an overall record of 11-4 and 8-2 in ECC action. The loss sees the Mavericks fall to 0-15 overall and 0-10 in conference play.
The Knights dominated the game from start to finish while continuing their good shooting. The Knights shot 42% from the field for the game as well as 38 % from three point range. Queens also won the battle of the boards pulling down 56 rebounds against their opponents 44. The Knights led by as many 26 points in second half and eventually ended up winning by 18 by the score of 80-62.
All five starters found themselves double digit scoring nights. However, three of the five also recorded double-doubles. Leading the way for Queens was junior forward Khalil McDonald. McDonald was 7-17 dropping a team high 19 points as well as pulling down 15 rebounds. Senior forward Akim Neverson also added 18 points on 7-13 shooting as well as adding 11 rebounds. The last Knight to boast a double-double in the contest was freshman guard Jeremiah Mordi who was 5-11 from the field scoring 14 points and pulling down 11 rebounds. Rounding out the scoring for Queens was senior Anderson Labase who also added 14 points and senior Lamonte Lans who had 11 points.
