The Queens College Men's Basketball team used a fantastic shooting effort to beat the visiting Molloy College Lions, 69-56. The Knights with the win find themselves on top of the ECC with a record of 10-4 (7-2 ECC). With the loss the Lions fall to 5-8 (5-4 ECC).
Four Knights found themselves in double digits in last nights win against the Lions. For the second straight game senior Akim Neverson led the Knights to a conference win. Neverson had a game and team high registering 23 points on 9-16 shooting as well as being a perfect 4-4 from the charity stripe. Freshman standout Jerimiah Mordi contributed 14 points of his own. Twelve of his fourteen came from beyond the arc as Mordi was 4-6 from three point range. Junior Khalil McDonald went to work in the paint last night for QC going 5-13 from the floor adding 12 hard earned points. Rounding out the scoring for the Knights was senior guard Lamonte Lans who had 10 points on 4-8 shooting.
Queens controlled the pace of play the whole game and never trailed the Lions the entire game. The Knights knocked down a tremendous 50 % of its shots from the field as well as shooting 50 % from three point range. QC also managed to hit 75 % of its chances from the free throw line. Statistically speaking this huge win over Molloy was the best shooting performance of the year for the Knights who took smart high percentage shots.
