Big Second Half Propels Knights over STAC 69-52

The Queens College Men's Basketball team snapped a three game losing streak last night against St. Thomas Aquinas. The Knights beat STAC 69-52 using a big second half to propel themselves to victory. With the win the Knights improve to 8-4 (5-2 ECC) while the Spartans fall to 2-10(2-5 ECC).

The Knights got off to a very sluggish start last night, but still managed to get in the locker room at half with a two point lead 27-25. In the first half Queens only managed to shoot 31% from the floor on 9-29 shooting, none of those nine being a three pointer. The second half proved to be a different story. Queens came out of the locker room recharged and ready for the Spartans. Shooting 61% from the floor and going 6-7 from behind the arc in the second half helped propel the Knights over STAC. The Knights got the help it needed in the second half from the bench. Senior Lamonte Lans dropped 10 points on 3-4 shooting as well as a perfect 2-2 from three point range. Senior, Terrell Simmons was 4-5 shooting for 11 points, both were very instrumental in Queens' second half turn around.  Khalil McDonald also added 11 points in the contest.

The Knights look to keep the wins coming with a home game against Molloy on Wednesday at 7:30 pm.
