Water Polo fades late in 17-8 loss at Fordham

Fordham University pulled away in the third quarter of their 17-8 victory over Queens College in a Northern Division match-up on Wednesday in the Bronx.

QC rallied twice to tie the score, the second time on a goal by Algi Skukauskas with 4:51 left in the first quarter, but Mikey Edwards answered 17 seconds later to enable Fordham to take a 3-2 lead after one.

Kris Sweetman scored 33 seconds into the second quarter and Nemanja Milijanovic's goal gave the Knights their first advantage of the evening with 5:40 left in the half. After Ali Arat and Milijanovic exchanged goals, Arat scored three goals in a minute to give Fordham a 7-5 lead 3:54 before intermission.

Trailing 9-6, Milijanovic scored in the first minute of the third quarter to pull the Knights within a pair but the Rams outscored QC 8-1 the rest of the way - including 5-0 in the fourth quarter - to rack up a 17-8 victory.
