Knights beat Mercy at home 68-57

The Queens College Women's Basketball team had their 2010 home opener tonight against the Mercy College Mavericks.  The Knights used the hot hand of Junior Amanda Bartlettt to guide them to a 68-57 win. With the win, the Knights, winners of their last two games improve to 3-6 overall and 2-1 in ECC play. The Mavericks with the loss drop to 2-5 overall and 0-3 in Conference play.

The Knights once again used a big first half by junior guard, Amanda Bartlett to get up on the Mavericks early. Bartlettt who was 6 of 15 shooting and a perfect 10-10 from the charity stripe finished the night with 24 points in 36 minutes of work, with 16 of those 24, coming in the first half. The Knights did a great job out rebounding their opponents and limiting the Mavericks second chance efforts which in previous games seemed to be QC's Achilles heel.

The Knights return to action tomorrow night at home when they take on the visiting Panthers of Adelphi University at 5pm, and look to extend their win streak to three straight games. All the action can be found right here with either live stats or live video, both links can be found on the Knights' schedule page.
