The Queens College Men's basketball team got off on the right foot last night picking up the win in the 2010 East Coast Conference opener against Molloy College 64-49. With the win the Knights improve to 2-1 overall and 1-0 in ECC play as the Lions fall to 0-3 overall and 0-1 in the ECC.
In a game ridden with turnovers the Knights still prevailed to beat the Lions by fifteen. Queens college out rebounded their opponent 46-29 and 16-8 on the offensive glass, which so far has proven to be the Knights M.O this season. Ten of those rebounds came from junior, Khalil McDonald who came off the bench to give the Knights a double-double also dropping 13 points in 26 minutes to lead the way for the Knights. Lamonte Lans added 11 points for the Knights going 5-8 from the floor as well as teammate Akim Neverson who also added 10 points going 5-9 from the field.
The Knights are back in action this Saturday when they travel to N.Y.I.T for a 2pm game in which the Knights looks to stay undefeated in ECC play. Live stats and video can be found online at www.nyit.edu .
