Knights lose last second heart breaker to Molloy 73-71

The Queens College Women's Basketball team opened up conference play Wednesday night as they traveled to Rockville Center, NY to take on the Molloy College Lions. The Knights lost 73-71 in the final seconds of the game. The loss drops Queens to 1-6 overall and 0-1 in Conference play. With the win the Lions improve to 1-6 overall and 1-0 in the ECC.

Despite having all five starters score in double digits Wednesday night, the Knights came up just short of their first conference win of the year. What proved to be a back and forth battle all night, Queens couldn't hold off a resilient Lions offense which out rebounded the Knights 24-8 on the offensive boards and 55-28 overall. The Lions were led by Delmara Reece who had 18 points and 17 rebounds to lead Molloy over Queens. However, junior Amanda Bartlett led all scorers with 21 points going 5-14 from the field. Christine Harnishfeger also added 15 points and Cadie Chu added 13 of her own.  Freshmen, Nicole Caggiano and Caitlin Hopkins both added 10 points each as well to round out the scoring for the Knights.
