The Queens College Women's basketball team traveled to Pleasantville, NY Friday to open up their season against So. Connecticut State University. The Owls went up early and never looked back, winning the opener 79-60. With the loss the Knights fall to 0-1 on the season and the Owls improve to 1-0.

Southern Connecticut came out on a 6-3 run in the first five minutes and never looked back. The Knights connected on only 12 of 33 attempts over the first 20 minutes, falling behind 46-32 after the first half. Freshman forward, Nicole Caggiano, had a good debut connecting for 15 points on her first night in a QC uniform. However, her efforts would not be enough as the Knights came out cold in the second half as well shooting only 18% from the field. The Owls also out rebounded the Knights 58-32 with 22 of those 58 coming on the offensive side.

Tomorrow the Knights look to turn things around against the Pace University Setters in Pleasantville, NY. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 pm and live stats will be available on the Setters Website.
