Ed LaMarr begins the 2025–26 season in his first season as an assistant coach.

LaMarr brings more than 40 years of experience in baseball coaching. He began his coaching career in 1984 in the Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League with the Nassau Collegians. During his eight-year tenure with the Collegians, seven as manager, the team captured four Kaiser Division titles and won the ACBL championship twice.

In 1985, LaMarr joined Queens College as Pitching Coach, a position he held for three years. He then moved to St. John’s University, serving as Pitching Coach for seven years. During his time with St. John’s, the program captured two Big East championships and made three NCAA tournament appearances, including a 1993 season finish ranked #14 nationally, just one win shy of the College World Series. Under his guidance, St. John’s pitchers earned five 1st Team All-Big East honors, two Big East Pitcher of the Year awards, Big East Tournament Most Outstanding Player, and Big East Rookie of the Year, with two players earning All-American recognition. Eleven Red Storm players were selected in the MLB Draft during his tenure, highlighted by All-American and Big East Pitcher of the Year C.J. Nitkowski, who was selected 9th overall by the Cincinnati Reds. Notably, both Nitkowski and Rich Aurilia went on to have successful Major League careers.

LaMarr later served as Pitching Coach at C.W. Post for two seasons under ABCA Hall of Fame inductee Dick Vining, followed by a season at the College of Mount St. Vincent. He also managed the Waterbury White Sox during the New England Collegiate Baseball League’s inaugural season. An active ABCA member, LaMarr has contributed to multiple committees, including the Committee for Summer Leagues.

Beyond his college coaching career, LaMarr has shared his expertise at numerous baseball camps and clinics. He has worked with the New York Yankees and New York Mets baseball camps, served as a batting practice pitcher for both organizations, and conducted clinics for the Philippines and former USSR national teams.

LaMarr’s passion for developing the next generation of pitchers remains strong. He currently provides instruction as a pitching coach through the New York Baseball Academy, Prospect Sports, Complete Sports Performance, and the Long Island Titans.
