Indira was a prominent member of the track team and was namedECC Cross Country Runner of the Week in October of 2008 when shebested the field at the College of Staten Island Invitational, heldat Van Cortlandt Park. Avila completed the course in a time of20:33 to win on the women''s side. Indira was later named QC Women''sCross Country MVP.

She is also a member of the Lady Knights soccer team.

While in high school Indira was Kiwanis Cup MVP, Forest HillsSoccer MVP and Sportsmanship Soccer Award winner.
