A decorated former international runner, Olga Ladino Romero returns to lend her skills and tutelage to the Queens College track and field program going into the 2021-22 season.Â

Ladino Romero is the mother of Queens Alum and track standout athlete Diana Cruz.Â

Entering her third year as an assistant coach to the program, Romero holds a number of responsibilities as an assistant coach including organizing and directing individual and group practice activities/exercises as directed, assessing student athletes skills, monitoring students during competition and practice, assisting with determining competition strategy, planning, and directing the training program for cross country, indoor and outdoor seasons.Â

Prior to joining the Knights coaching staff she served as the Track & Field head coach for Indervalle State Institute for Sports and Recreation. During her tenure, she supervised recruitment and selection of athletes, ensured that athletes were physically prepared for competition, and conducted performance evaluations.

Ladino Romero has over twenty years of experience in track and field in both the competition and coaching sectors. She was a coach for the Colombian National Team while winning 50 international medals---including a silver in a World Championship meet and a bronze in a World Cup event---with over 500 medals won at the national level.
