Joshua Zapata enters his first season as an assistant coach under Frank Vertullo.
A former National Champion under Vertullo, Zapata played two seasons (2013-2014) at Suffolk Community College. In two seasons, Zapata earned All-League First Team, All-Region Second Team in 2013 and was selected to the NJCAA All-Tournament Team. Zapata would help the Sharks win the 2014 National title as he earned All-League, All-Region, and was named to the All-American First Team.
Following his playing career with the Sharks, Zapata transferred to fellow East Coast Conference member Molloy University where he would earn All-ECC First Team honors in 2016.
He would graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Business Management.
