QC Alum and former All-ECC honoree David Ramirez enters his fifth season as an assistant coach for Frank Vertullo. He first joined the coaching staff for the 2019 season. 
 
In four seasons Ramirez has helped the Knights record 39 wins with back-to-back East Coast Conference playoff appearances and two NCAA Tournament appearances. The 2022 season was the Knights’ best season in program history as Queens recorded a program-best 13-7 record while earning the #2 seed in the ECC Playoffs (highest in program history) before the program earned their first-ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament as the #7 seed.
 
In 2023 the Knights would record back-to-back double-digit winning seasons while winning the ECC Championship for the first time in program history before winning their first NCAA Tournament game as the #10 seed against Notre Dame (OH).
 
Ramirez played under coach Vertullo for two seasons in 2017 and 2018 that saw him make a combined 22 starts. A key figure on the back line during the Knights return to postseason play in 2018 which saw the Knights shutout five opponents en route to a 10-4-3 record. For his strong play during his senior campaign Ramirez was named to the All-ECC third team for the 2018 season. 
 
Ramirez work as a fitness performance coach for Queensboro Football Club wheere he was in charge of game preparations, physical fitness, strength & conditioning, and field coaching. 

Ramirez graduated from Queens College in 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education. He is a certified New York State Physical Education teacher for the DOE and is working on a Masters Degree in K-12 Health Education.
