Joseph was captain of the cross country, indoor and outdoor track teams as a junior and senior at Bejamin Cardozo High School. As a junior he was MVP of all three teams and as a senior he was MVP of the indoor and outdoor squads. In 2009 he was Queensborough Champion in the 1000 m indoor run and the 800 m run.
