Stephanie Powers (Sweeney)
Sweeney was a two-time captain on the softball team. She received all-conference honors every year during her time at Queens College and was twice named Most Valuable Player Award, culminating with a Silver Knight Award at the completion of her collegiate career. Sweeney was part of the 1999 Knights team that set a record for wins, going 37-16. She participated in the 1997 and 1998 ECAC Tournament teams where the 98 team finished 2nd. Sweeney was also on the first Queens College team to advance to the NCAA Regionals, finishing in 3rd place. Current Director of Camps, Brian DeMasters, was her coach. Sweeney earned her undergraduate degree in Education at Queens College and received her Master’s Degree from St. John’s University. She is currently a teacher in the Diocese of Brooklyn.
