Pete Schwenker

Schwenker served as team captain of the men's swimming and diving team for two years. During his three varsity years, the team lost only one dual meet and won multiple CUNY and Metropolitan championships. He also held or shared over half of the school’s men’s records. He earned team MVP honors, All-Conference player honors, and individual conference championships and was a national qualifier all three years. In 1967, he received the Goldschmidt Award as the outstanding male swimmer, and in 1968 and 1969 he won the Kingston/Goldschmidt Award as the outstanding male swimmer. He ended his collegiate career as a Gray Knight Award winner, the highest honor bestowed on a student-athlete. Pete earned his B.S. degree in Health and Physical Education and received a Master's degree in Health Education from Brooklyn College. Currently he is retired and officiates swimming at the high school, collegiate and masters levels.
