Billy Hiss
Hiss was a three-time All-Conference baseball player at Queens College, while serving as the team captain. He also added All Region and All-American honors to his list of accolades. During his time in Queens, the baseball team won the 1973 and 1975 Knickerbocker Conference Championship and played in the ECAC Tournament during those same years. Hiss led the Conference in batting in 1974 and in 1975, the team achieved a top-20 ranking. Also in that season, Hiss led the country in doubles percentage and was selected to the “Sporting News All-American Team”; which culminated with his selection in the third round of the amateur draft by the Cleveland Indians. He was a perfect 50-of-50 in stolen bases during his QC career. Hiss earned his B.S. in Physical Education from Queens College and currently serves as physical education teacher and coach at the Green Vale School.
