Barbara Ricciardi

Moving up from the Junior Varsity squad, Riccardi served as co-captain in 1972-73 and 1973-74; which were the most recognized and accomplished women’s basketball teams in Queens College history. She led the team in rebounds for three of her four years and was a participant on the 1972-73 team that competed for the AIAW National Championship. Riccardi won the 1974 Queens College Scholar-Athlete Award and was drafted by the WBA’s New York Stars, upon graduation. She was a member of the first women’s basketball team inducted into the New York City Basketball Hall of Fame (in 2004); as well as the first women’s team in the Queens College Athletics Hall of Fame. Riccardi graduated from Queens College with a degree in Physical Education and earned a Masters from Adelphi University. Currently, she is celebrating her tenth year in business as owner of Riccardi Landscape Design, Inc.
