Alan Landes

Alan Landes coached the Queens College men's tennis team for 27 seasons, leading the Knights to 342 victories. While at the helm, the Knights earned six NCAA tournament bids and reached the round of 32 in both 2005 and 2006. He led the program to six conference titles before Queens joined the NYCAC in 1993. That year, Queens captured the conference's inaugural men's tennis crown, while Landes garnered NYCAC Coach of the Year honors. He later won Eastern Tennis Association Coach of the Year in 2003 and was named ITA East Region Coach of the Year in 2004. An alumnus and former teacher at Queens, Landes was inducted into the Athletics Hall of Fame in June before passing away after a courageous battle against cancer.
