1967 Baseball Team
In 1967, the Queens College baseball team won its first-ever Knickerbocker Conference Championship. Under the guidance of Hall of Fame coach Robert J. Tierney, the Knights went 13-4 overall that season, winning the Knickerbocker title with an 8-0 mark in conference play. Fellow Hall of Fame inductee Howard Elson led the squad on the mound, earning Knickerbocker Pitcher of the Year after going 6-2 with a 1.57 ERA and 64 strikeouts.Â
