Joseph Gould | Class of 1975 | Track and
Field
Joseph Gould ’75 excelled in track and field; in
1977, his 257-foot javelin toss earned him ninth-best ranking in
the United States. He continues to holds school marks in the discus
and shot put and ranks second, all-time, to current assistant coach
Joe Brancaccio in the weight and hammer throws. Gould’s
athletic prowess led him to compete for the US in the 1973 and 1977
Maccabiah Games, at which he threw his best 234-foot 1
inch javelin toss which is a still-standing QC record. A
gentleman on and off the fold, he earned the title of Inspector in
the Los Angeles Fire Department and is now
retired.
