Coach & Administrator, 1963–2000 

Margaret (Peg) Franco earned varsity awards in field hockey, softball, and swimming, and served on the Intercollegiate Athletic Board. At the 1959 Eastern Intercollegiate Swimming Championships, she was first in the 100 free and helped the QC team place second. As a faculty member, she coached QC women’s basketball in 1963–64 and the women’s swim team in 1964–73. Selected as Coach of the Year in 1968, Peg held national official’s ratings in swimming and basketball and was an official at the 1964 Olympic Swim Trials and the 1984 International Games for the Disabled. She was QC’s first female Associate Athletic Director (1976–77) and served as chair of the Health & Physical Education Dept. from 1989 to 1995 and deputy chair from 1995 to 2000, when she retired.
