Nkiru Awaka (Hyde Park, N.Y.), was named Co-Player of the Week and Defensive Player of the Week and junior guard
Daja White (Queens, N.Y.) was named to the Honor Roll sheet.
Co-Player of the Week and Defensive Player of the Week
For the second time in three weeks, Awaka has earned dual honors.
In a 2-0 week for the Knights, Awaka led the way, averaging a double-double with 19.0 PPG on 69.6% shooting, 17.5 RPG, 2.5 APG, 2.0 BPG, and 2.0 SPG. In the victory over SNHU, Awaka posted 20 points (9-12 FG), 19 rebounds (11 offensive, 8 defensive), three blocks, three assists, and one steal. To close out the week, the Hyde Park native recorded 18 points (7-11 FG), 16 rebounds, three steals, two assists, and one block in the ECC victory over Roberts Wesleyan.
Honor Roll
For the second straight week, White has earned a Honor Roll spot.
In a 2-0 week for the Knights, White averaged 13.0 PG, 5.0 APG, 3.5 RPG, and 1.0 SPG. In the win over SNHU, White recorded 12 points, six assists, five rebounds, and one steal. In the ECC victory over Roberts Wesleyan, the Queens native posted 14 points, four assists, two rebounds, and one steal. During a 15-2 run to close the game, White added eight points as Queens earned their first ECC win of the season.
