FLUSHING, N.Y. – In week two of the season the Queens College men's soccer team went 1-1 earning a victory over Holy Family at home before falling to Felician on the road.

Frank Vertullo and the Knights open the week in New Haven, CT as they match up against the Owls of Southern Connecticut State University in a non-conference game before traveling to Rochester, N.Y. for their East Coast Conference opener against the Redhawks of Roberts Wesleyan University.
Queens College Preview (2024 Record: 1-3 Overall)
- In week two Queens earned a 4-0 shutout over Holy Family on Wednesday, Sept. 11 to conclude their first homestand of the year before falling 3-0 against Felician on the road as Queens opened a season-high three-game road trip
- As a team, the Knights have recorded six goals registering 66 shots with 33 shots on goals.
- Sophomore forward Miguel Soto Gonzalez (Madrid, Spain) leads the teams with a team-high six points having recorded three goals
- On Monday, Soto Gonzalez earned his first East Coast Conference weekly honor as he was named to the Honor Roll sheet. (Link)
- Junior forward Harry Cooke (Market Drayton, England) and graduate student forward Carlos Almeida (Sao Paulo, Brazil) lead the team with two assists each, while Cooke has recorded four points on the year with one goal as well.
- In goal, junior Noris Iten (Sachseln, Switzerland) has earned all four starts recording 15 saves, one combined shutout, and holds a goals against average of 2.33.
- In the ECC Men's Soccer Preseason Poll, Vertullo and his squad have been tabbed to repeat as Champions as they earned four first-place votes for a total of 72 points. (Link)
Opponent Outlook
The Knights match up against the Owls for the third straight season on Wednesday, Sept. 17 in New Haven to begin the week. Queens will wrap up the road trip on Saturday, Sept. 21 in Rochester as ECC play gets underway against the Redhawks.

- The Redhawks enter the week with an overall record of 1-2 and travel to Greensburg, PA for a non-conference game against Seton Hill University on Wednesday evening before hosting the Knights on Saturday afternoon.
- Saturday's meeting will be the 12th overall against the Redhawks with Queens leading the All-Time series 6-5 and will be entering Saturday's game with a two-game win streak over their ECC foe.
Week Four Outlook:
After a week away from Flushing, Vertullo and the Knights make a quick stop in Flushing on Thursday, Sept. 26 as they welcome the Griffins of Chestnut Hill College for a non-conference game. Queens will travel to Buffalo for their second ECC game of the year against the Saints of D'Youville University on Saturday, Sept. 28.
