FLUSHING, N.Y. – The 2024 regular season officially came to a close on Saturday afternoon as the Queens College women's soccer team welcomed the Lions of Molloy University to town in East Coast Conference play on Senior Day.
Despite outshooting the Lions 9-5, it would be a tough loss for the Knights as they fell to the final score of 1-0 to conclude the regular season.
The Knights close out the regular season with an overall record of 9-6-1 and 4-3 in ECC play and will start to prepare for the upcoming East Coast Conference Women's Soccer Tournament.

Gabrielle Ciambella (Williamsville, N.Y.), Erica Petrie (Marlboro, N.Y.), Gabrielle Christian (Forest Hills, N.Y.), Jackie Diel (Stony Brook, N.Y.), Sarah Anderson (East Setauket, N.Y.) and
Julia Ragone (Centereach, N.Y.) for their dedication to Queens College and the women's soccer program.
GAME RECAP
The Knights would dominate the first half of play as they held the Lions without a shot.
Queens would tally the first shot of the game in the 13
th minute of play but senior
Julia Ragone's (Centereach, N.Y.) shot would get blocked.
Staying on the offense, senior
Gabrielle Ciambella (Williamsville, N.Y.) would curl a shot on goal in the 17
th minute of play but the Lions goalie would make a timely save to keep the game scoreless.
But as rookie goalie
Samantha Hines-Hirsch (Plainview, N.Y.) and her defense continued to keep the Lions from attacking, Ragone and rookie
Morgan Khadra (Grand Island, N.Y.) would combine for five shots with Ragone notching the team's second shot on goal of the first half in the 34
th minute of play.
However, both teams would take a scoreless game into halftime despite Queens outshooting Molloy to a tally of 7-0.
In the second half of play, the Lions would tally their first shot on goal in the 51
st minute of play before a timely punch from Hines-Hirsch denied the visitors a chance to score.
Queens would respond with senior
Erica Petrie (Marlboro, N.Y.) notching a shot in the 52
nd minute of play but her shot would sail out left.
The Lions would take a 1-0 lead off a corner kick in the 63
rd minute of play.
The Knights would look to respond in the 72
nd minute of play behind sophomore
Jenna Rosenberger (Smithtown, N.Y.) recording Queens' third shot on target in the game but a timely save from the Lions goalie would deny the sophomore forward a chance to equalize the game.
Queens would be held without a shot for the final 18 minutes as Molloy played spoils on Senior Day.
