FLUSHING, N.Y. – The Queens College men's soccer team ended week six of play with a 1-0-1 record against two regionally-ranked opponents.

Frank Vertullo and the Knights defeated #5 Jefferson 2-0 on Wednesday evening before ending the week with a 0-0 scoreless tie against #9 Caldwell on Saturday evening.
Queens College Preview (2024 Record: 7-4-1 Overall, 4-0 ECC)
- Queens extended their unbeaten wins streak to seven games in week six by recording a two-goal performance in the victory over Jefferson at home on Wednesday before earning a scoreless tie against Caldwell on Saturday evening.
- As a team, the Knights have recorded 32 goals registering 210 shots with 106 shots on goals.
- Junior forward Harry Cooke (Market Drayton, England) leads the team with a team-high and program record of 33 points having tallied 14 goals and five assists on the year.
- On Monday, Oct. 14 Cooke earned his second Honor Roll spot of the year.
- On Monday, Oct. 7 Cooke earned a consecutive ECC Offensive Player of the Week honors as he led the way with 10 points with five goals.
- Sophomore forward Miguel Soto Gonzalez (Madrid, Spain) has recorded 19 points with seven goals to go with five assists.
- On Monday, Oct. 14 Soto Gonzalez earned his third ECC weekly honor as he was named to the Honor Roll sheet.
- Graduate student forward Carlos Almeida (Sao Paulo, Brazil) has recorded a team-high six assists and one goal for eight points on the year.
- On Monday, Oct. 7 Almeida was awarded a Honor Roll spot for the first time this year.
- Junior Kevin Johnson (Oakdale, N.Y.), redshirt junior Eyob Gaffigan (Walkersville, MD), freshman Bastian Engeli (Bergen, Norway), sophomore Andrew Johnson (Oakdale, N.Y.), senior Joaquim Johnson (Brooklyn, N.Y.), sophomore Jason Udo (Bronx, N.Y.), rookie Kleverson Bolanos (Kew Gardens, N.Y.), and sophomore Tommy Gunn (Buenos Aires, Argentina) have combined for 10 goals and two game-winning goals.
- In goal, junior Noris Iten (Sachseln, Switzerland) and sophomore Thanasis Shehadeh (Nicosia, Cyprus) have combined for 35 saves, five shutouts, and one combined shutout, and hold a goals against average of 1.25.
- On Monday, Oct. 14 Shehadeh was named to ECC Defensive Player of the Week for the first time in his career and his spot on the ECC Weekly Report Sheet.
- In the ECC Men's Soccer Preseason Poll, Vertullo and his squad have been tabbed to repeat as Champions as they earned four first-place votes for a total of 72 points. (Link)

Vertullo and the Knights conclude their homestand on Saturday, Oct. 19 as they return to ECC play as they welcome the Wildcats of Daemen University to town.

- The Wildcats enter the week with an overall record of 3-5-2, and 0-4-1 in ECC play and are coming off a 1-2 loss to District of Columbia on Saturday afternoon. They will match up against Saint Anselm College on Wednesday before traveling to Flushing on Saturday.
- Saturday's meeting will be the 11th overall against Daemen with the Knights leading the All-Time series to a record of 8-2.
- In the last six meetings the Knights are 4-2 against the Wildcats and hold a 2-1 record in Flushing against their ECC foe.

Vertullo and the Knights continue East Coast Conference play as they open a two-game road stand beginning on Wednesday, Oct. 23 in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. against the Mavericks of Mercy University before traveling to Sparkill, N.Y. on Sunday, Oct. 27 against the Spartans of St. Thomas Aquinas College.
