FLUSHING, N.Y. – The Queens College women's soccer team continues non-conference play on Wednesday, Oct. 16 against the Yellow Jackets of American International College before concluding the homestand on Saturday, Oct. 19 against the Wildcats of Daemen University in East Coast Conference play.
In their lone game last week head coach
Thomas Paris and the Knights earned a scoreless tie against regionally-ranked #10 Georgian Court on Saturday evening.
Queens College Knights Preview (2024 Record: 5-4-1 Overall, 2-1 ECC)
- The Knights are coming off a 0-0-1 week as they earned a scoreless tie against regionally-ranked #10 Georgian Court as they were led by rookie goalie Samantha Hines-Hirsch (Plainview, N.Y.) notching nine saves in the game.
- As a team, the Knights have registered 13 goals with 153 total shot attempts and 60 shots on goal.
- Senior forward/midfielder Julia Ragone (Centereach, N.Y) leads the team having recorded a team-high nine points with four goals and one assist to go with one game-winning goal.
- Ragone has earned two Honor Roll spots this season for her offensive efforts.
- Seven different Knights have each recorded a goal in sophomore defender Lluvy Lewis (Valley Stream, N.Y.), sophomore midfielder Ashley Kieblesz (Middle Village, N.Y.), sophomore Jenna Rosenberger (Smithtown, N.Y.), freshman forward Abigail Jalocha (Maspeth, N.Y.), junior midfielder Adriana Melgar (Queens, N.Y.), Ava Angiuli (Wantagh, N.Y.) and sophomore midfielder Anna Tavantzis's (Holbrook, N.Y.).
- The trio of Lewis, Kieblesz, and Angiuli have all earned an ECC Honor Roll spot.
- Tavantzis was named ECC Offensive Player of the Week on Monday, Oct. 7.
- In goal, rookie Samantha Hines-Hirsch (Plainview, N.Y.) has earned all 10 starts and has recorded 52 saves with a goals-against average of 1.65.
- Hines-Hirsch earned Defensive Player of the Week in the second ECC Weekly Report Sheet.
- On Oct. 14 the rookie goalie was awarded her third Honor Roll spot of the year.
- In the 2024 ECC Preseason Coaches Poll the Knights have been tabbed to finish fifth. (Link)

- Saturday's meeting will be the 11th overall against the Wildcat with Queens leading the All-Time series to the overall record of 5-4-1.
- Queens is looking for their second straight victory over the Wildcats in Flushing having earned a 1-0 victory on September 17, 2022.
