FLUSHING, N.Y. - After opening the 2023 season on the road, the Queens College men's soccer team returns home as they get set for a three-match homestand beginning on Wednesday (Sept. 6) evening as Felician University Golden Falcons come to town.
The Knights will conclude the week on Saturday (Sept. 9) evening as they welcome the Penmen of Southern New Hampshire University.

Queens College Knights Preview (0-1 Overall Record)
- Head Coach Frank Vertullo and the Knights opened the 2023 season against 2022 National Champions Franklin Pierce University on Saturday afternoon as they were defeated 3-0.
- The Knights are coming off a record-breaking 2022 season which saw them earn their first-ever NCAA Tournament Appearance.
- In defense, the Knights are led by sophomore goalie Jake Balme (Sheffield, England) who recorded four saves against the Ravens.
Felician University Golden Falcons Preview (1-1 Overall Record)
- Felician opened the 2023 season with a 1-1 record as they fell 4-1 to East Stroudsburg in their opener on Thursday before earning a 2-1 victory over St. Michael's College on Saturday.
- Wednesday's match will be the sixth in program history with the Knights holding a 2-1-2 advantage.
- It will be the first matchup against the Golden Falcons since the 2018 season which saw a 3-3 score fest on the road.
- The Golden Falcons are led by Massimo Girardi who has recorded two goals for four points and Lorenzo Ferrari with one goal on the season.
- In goal, Emanuele Moretti has made six saves and holds a 2.50 goals against average.
Southern New Hampshire University Penmen Preview (2-0 Overall Record)
- SNHU has opened the season with a 2-0 record defeating Mercy University 2-0 in their opener before earning a 2-0 victory over Jefferson on Sunday afternoon.
- The Penmen will match up against #21 Post University on Wednesday evening before traveling to Flushing to face off against the Knights.
- Saturday's match will be the sixth in program history with the Knights in search of their first win in program history over their non-conference opponent.
- In their last meeting last season, Queens fell 3-0 to the Penmen on the road.
- The Penmen are led by Luca Shubitidze who leads the team with three points having tallied a goal and an assist, while three other Penmen have opened their goal account.
- While in goal, Jurgen Huber has recorded 12 saves with two shutouts on the season.

The Knights conclude the homestand on Wednesday (Sept. 13) evening as they welcome the Owls of Southern Connecticut State University to town. Kickoff is set for 7:30 pm.
